Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The municipal administrator of Viana, Deme\u0301trio de Sepu\u0301lveda, visited the company Fabrimetal, located in the Vila Sede district, this Wednesday, having noted the presence of 730 Angolan workers out of the 850 existing.<\/b><\/p>\n

These workers are mostly residents of Viana, and trained at the factory’s professional training center.<\/p>\n

The general director of Fabrimetal, Lui\u0301s Diogo, told the press that it was the company’s policy to hire labor in the vicinity of the factory to reduce absenteeism and help workers, without transport, to reduce expenses.<\/p>\n

For Eloisio Gaspar, the company’s health and claims manager and resident of Sanzala, it is a benefit to work and live in the same location, because he is never late for work.<\/p>\n

Machine operator Lando Eduardo, from the Regedoria neighborhood, said he was happy to share the work space with many of his neighbors.<\/p>\n

The Machine Maintenance technician, Emi\u0301lia Matondo, stressed that the work environment is very hectic, but, even so, she learned to handle three types of machines, without needing supervision from a superior.<\/p>\n

Fabrimetal annually produces around 130 tons of steel bars, bars, angles and profiles which, in addition to the national market, are destined for Ghana, DRC, Senegal, Benin and Cote D’voire.<\/p>\n

At the time, the municipal administrator was informed that 70 percent of the raw materials used to manufacture these products come from the recycling of ferrous scrap, which encourages waste collection in the municipality.<\/p>\n

Lui\u0301s Diogo explained that the company’s policy is to refuse to purchase gutter covers, electrical cables, copper wires or railway tracks to combat the promotion of theft of these equipment.<\/p>\n
