Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>An exhibition of paintings and crafts, entitled \u201cTalatona, Seven years of Existence\u201d, available to the public, since (Friday) marks the beginning of the municipality’s anniversary festivities, to be celebrated on the 18th of October.<\/b><\/p>\n

Lasting five days, the 45 works, by three Angolan artists, namely \u201cMestre Pedro\u201d, with the theme of oil painting on canvas, \u201cMestre Anacleto\u201d with various crafts and \u201cMaster Yaba\u201d, with basket making items coming from the Mussulo Commune, aim to expand cultural tourism.<\/p>\n

The painting works, which display the daily life of Angolans, the landscapes and historical points, cost between ten and ninety thousand kwanzas.<\/p>\n

While the handcrafted pieces range between two and 300 thousand kwanzas, we portray the marimba musical instrument, hunters, baobab trees, the Thinker, symbol of national culture, a map of Africa and Queen Njinga Mbande.<\/p>\n

The Municipal Director of Culture, John Belas, highlighted that the event aims to expand and promote entrepreneurship among art makers in the municipality. \u201cIt is necessary to combine art with cultural tourism and also awaken the arts in people\u201d, he concluded.<\/p>\n
