Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Three traffic officers from the Municipal Command of the National Police of Lubango were arrested, over the weekend, by the General Inspectorate of State Administration (IGAE), for alleged acts of corruption.<\/b><\/p>\n

The suspects will be presented to the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) for the necessary procedures, for creating an act of public improbity, in disobedience to Law No. 3\/10 of March 29, as well as the crime of corruption provided for in the Penal Code. .<\/p>\n

These are agents identified by Domingos Nungua Ferreira Paulo Caleio and Pedro Teia, who received an undue monetary amount of 97 thousand kwanzas.<\/p>\n

The agents were deployed in a stop operation, on Saturday, at the entrance to Centraoidade da Quilemba, where they were caught by IGAE Inspectors, following a complaint made by taxi drivers, who were forced to pay one thousand kwanzas for each infraction.<\/p>\n

The municipal commander of the National Police, Intendant Fernando Hamuyela, confirmed the occurrence and disapproved of the attitude of the agents whose mission was to maintain and regulate speeding vehicles.<\/p>\n

According to him, after the trial they will also undergo an internal disciplinary process, whose punishment will discourage these criminal acts.<\/p>\n

This is the first incident of its kind this year, but the fourth that IGAE has carried out in the last two years against police officers, who have already been expelled.<\/p>\n
