Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The young people from the Angolan robotics team who won second place in the World Robotics Championship, held from the 6th to the 11th of this month, in Singapore, were, this Tuesday, in Luanda, designated as ambassadors of the National Space Program.<\/b><\/p>\n

The action of the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS) aims, among other objectives, to increasingly empower young Angolans in the area of \u200b\u200bspace science.<\/p>\n

According to the head of the MINTTICS portfolio, Ma\u0301rio Oliveira, the inclusion of the respective young people in the National Space Program could constitute a valuable contribution to this sector, allowing young people to be equipped with new knowledge about the launch of satellites and programming, for example.<\/p>\n

When speaking at the reception of the robotics team, the minister considered the Angolan team’s second place achievement as an example of the bravery of Angolan youth, dedicated to their work and characterized by resilience.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe medal you bring is a symbol for Angola, demonstrating that our country has a future, in addition to serving as an example for other young people\u201d, he highlighted.<\/p>\n

In addition to being ambassadors of the National Space Program, minister Ma\u0301rio Oliveira assured that young people will benefit from a scholarship at the ITEL Training Center (CEFITEL), where they will be able to further develop their skills.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, he promised a bright future for young people, hoping that the dedication shown by the team would become a \u201clantern\u201d for others who also want to embrace the science of robotic programming.<\/p>\n

Composed of five young people, the Angolan team scored 215 points to win second place in the world competition, in a universe of 191 countries.<\/p>\n

The national team’s participation in the World Robotics Championship was organized by Angola Robo\u0301tica e Tecnologia (AROTEC).<\/p>\n

The Angolan team, trained by Cristova\u0303o Cacombe, CEO of AROTEC, is made up of students Lui\u0301s da Silva (13th class in machines and engines), Cleva\u0302nio Clemente (13th class in machines and engines), Joaquim Ju\u0301nior (ITEL finalist, electronics course and telecommunications), Edmilson Marques (13th class – machines and engines course) and Marcos Manuel (13th class – industrial electronics and automation).<\/p>\n

This year, the test, dedicated to students under 18 years old, focused on building robots for teaching and to fulfill the tasks of the theme: Hydrogens Horizons (hydrogen horizons), to encourage innovation and solutions for clean energy and renewable.<\/p>\n

The international competition, entitled \u201cFirst Global Challenge\u201d, encompasses 191 countries competing against each other, in an event with more than a thousand students from around the world.<\/p>\n
