Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The province of Cuanza Norte has a total of 61 projects, being implemented in the 10 municipalities, included in the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), with more than 83 percent of physical execution and 66 percent of financial execution.<\/b><\/p>\n

Within the scope of PIIM, the province was awarded 86 actions, valued at 27 billion, 587 million, 249 thousand and 672 Kwanzas, in the areas of education, health, communication routes, infrastructures, basic sanitation, energy, security and public works.<\/p>\n

The data was presented this Wednesday, in Ndalatando, by the vice-governor for the Technical Sector and Infrastructures of Cuanza Norte, Mendonc\u0327a Lui\u0301s.<\/p>\n

According to the official, who was taking stock of the PIIM situation in Cuanza Norte, at the V ordinary meeting of the Interministerial Commission for the Implementation of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (CI-PIIM), which took place in this city, 75 actions are within the scope provincial and 11 central.<\/p>\n

Of the total projects, which includes acquisitions of basic sanitation kits and hospital equipment, 43 are completed, 28 are underway, three to start and one paralyzed.<\/p>\n

He added that the value of the contracts already approved is 18 billion, 457 million, 10 thousand and 958 Kwanzas for 66 projects. Of this amount, 18 billion, 113 million, 674 thousand and 820 Kwanzas were consumed.<\/p>\n

The implementation of PIIM generated around 1,265 jobs in Cuanza Norte.<\/p>\n

The government official highlighted the existence of several constraints in the execution of public contracts that have to do with the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, combined with insufficient funds for the approved projects.<\/p>\n

The meeting led by the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Jose\u0301 de Lima Massano, assessed the level of implementation of PIIM projects in the country, constraints and prospects.<\/p>\n

During the event, participants analyzed the minutes and assessment of the degree of compliance with the recommendations of the IV ordinary meeting of CI-PIIM and the state of play of PIIM in Cuanza Norte.<\/p>\n

It also analyzed the situation of sectoral projects, the PIIM progress report for the month of August 2023 and the memorandum on the level of execution of the PIIM Communication Plan.<\/p>\n

The Interministerial Commission for the Implementation of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (CI-PIIM) is made up of the ministers and secretaries of State for Territorial Administration, Finance, Health, Education, Interior, Public Works, Urban Planning and Housing.<\/p>\n

They also include the heads and secretaries of State for Fisheries and the Sea, Environment, Industry and Commerce, Energy and Water, Agriculture and Forestry, Social Action, Family and Promotion of Women, Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Transport and Planning.<\/p>\n

PIIM was launched in August 2019, by the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o. It foresees 1,679 actions to cover the country’s 164 municipalities, financed with a total value of two billion dollars, coming from the Angolan Sovereign Fund.<\/p>\n
