Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angola’s ambassador to Guinea Bissau, Ma\u0301rio Augusto, emphasized, this Tuesday, the historical ties of friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two countries, based on a common past.<\/b><\/p>\n

The diplomat alluded to these aspects during the visit of a delegation from the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) participating, in Bissau, in the FELINO 2023 Exercises, \u201cin the Charter\u201d modality, within the framework of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP).<\/p>\n

On the occasion, he argued that the objective has always been to guarantee the independence, social well-being of their populations, sustainable and inclusive development, as well as the growth of both countries.<\/p>\n

Still interacting with visitors, ambassador Ma\u0301rio Augusto welcomed the gesture, considering it to be a \u201cpatriotic and institutional solidarity\u201d gesture.<\/p>\n

The diplomat also took advantage of the opportunity to inform about the functioning of the diplomatic representation and its political-diplomatic and consular scope, taking into account the geopolitical nature of Guinea-Bissau in the Community of West African States (ECOWAS) region.<\/p>\n

In turn, Captain Mar e Guerra Hermenegildo Ngoyoma, who heads the delegation, explained the objectives of representing the country in the Felino 2023 Exercises, which are taking place in this Nation.<\/p>\n

The FELINO exercises aim to prepare the General Staff of a Joint and Combined Task Force (FTCC), within the scope of the CPLP, to maintain and optimize the ability to participate in missions to support Peace and Humanitarian Assistance, at operational levels. and tactical.<\/p>\n

According to Captain Mar e Guerra Hermenegildo Ngoyoma, the exercises take place annually with the exception of the years 2011, 2020, 2021 and 2022, but he announced that the execution of Feline exercises in the \u201cForces on the Ground\u201d modality is scheduled for 2024, in Portugal .<\/p>\n

The joint and combined military exercises of the FELINO series constitute one of the fundamental vectors of the Defense Component, namely promoting the interoperability of the Armed Forces of the CPLP Member States, through training for their use in peace and assistance operations humanitarian, under the auspices of the United Nations.<\/p>\n

The FELINO exercises began in 2000, in Portugal, in the Terrain Force format, whose objective was to train the joint action of forces from the countries that make up the CPLP.<\/p>\n
