Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The opening of the 2023-2024 parliamentary year of the V Legislature, where the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, delivered his usual message on the State of the Nation, marked this week’s political news.<\/b><\/p>\n

On that occasion, the President of the Republic reiterated his commitment to institutionalizing local authority in the manner in which it would be negotiated by deputies to the National Assembly (AN).<\/p>\n

He stressed that the Executive has long fulfilled its part of preparing and presenting to the AN the proposed laws that make up the so-called Local Legislative Package.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know that we are looking for the greatest possible consensus around this matter of national interest, a situation that, as we know, has been going on for years, although for the approval of these laws a qualified majority of 2\/3 of the votes of the deputies is not required, just only the favorable vote of an absolute majority\u201d, he highlighted.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the President announced the recovery, throughout the current year, of Real Estate valued at one thousand and 700 million US dollars (1,700,000,000.00), within the scope of Combating Corruption.<\/p>\n

He also stated that the fight against corruption and the process of recovering State assets remain at the top of the country’s agenda.<\/p>\n

In the message on the State of the Nation, the President also defended the implementation, without further hesitation, of the UN Security Council resolutions, for the creation of the true State of Palestine.<\/p>\n

He said that this State must have security guarantees in peaceful coexistence between Israel and Palestine.<\/p>\n

Also a highlight of the week was the participation of the Vice-President of the Republic of Angola, Esperanc\u0327a da Costa, in the 1st International Congress on \u201cScience, Innovation and Development of Lusofonia\u201d, which took place in the city of Mindelo, in Cape Verde.<\/p>\n

Esperanc\u0327a da Costa, who participated in the meeting on behalf of the President of Angola, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, highlighted, in his intervention, that the energy transition, digital and environmental transformation without jeopardizing fair balances must be at the center of the priorities of the States -members of the CPLP.<\/p>\n

He highlighted that countries and their organizations or companies must be intertwined with the digital transition, marked by the “Revolution 4.0, Big Data, 5G, Artificial Intelligence and algorithms”.<\/p>\n

This week was echoed by the opening of the 6th Ordinary Session of the Plenary of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSMJ), where the president, Joel Leonardo, reported that 13 thousand and 439 criminal cases were analyzed by guarantee judges in the country, from last May to the present data, from a total of 13 thousand and 669, which resulted in the issuance of three thousand and 615 release and bail warrants.<\/p>\n

Another highlight was related to the participation of a delegation from the Angolan National Police in the International Conference of the sector, in the Republic of Korea, within the scope of the 2023 World Expo of the body of this Asian country, which took place from the 18th to the 21st.<\/p>\n

The conference seeks to define strategies leading to a common future vision of the policing sector with the use of high technologies and delegations from several countries will participate in it, with emphasis on the United States of America, United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia, Singapore, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and France.<\/p>\n
