Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The governor of the province of Benguela, Lui\u0301s Nunes, stated this Friday, in the city of Lobito, that the Refinery and the Lobito Corridor, when they come into operation, could make the province the largest logistics center in the country.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, Lui\u0301s Nunes launched a challenge to national and foreign businesspeople to be aware of investment opportunities in this part of the national territory.<\/p>\n

Regarding the contract signing ceremony for the construction of the Lobito Refinery, between SONANGOL and China Chemicals Engineering Company (CNCEC), he said, with conviction, that it will provide a lot of jobs for youth, with priority for those in the province.<\/p>\n

The Lobito Refinery is located five kilometers north of the city of Lobito and was designed to produce 200 thousand barrels per day.<\/p>\n

As for the products planned to be produced there, they include gasoline, diesel, Jet-A1 and LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas).<\/p>\n

“We have been waiting for a long time for this impactful project, which is taking place step by step and becoming a reality, which in a certain way will contribute to the modernization of such an important sector in our country” he stated.<\/p>\n

Asked about the possibility of small companies being able to help the oil industry, Lui\u0301s Nunes confirmed the fact, claiming that many services will be outsourced.<\/p>\n

“A project of this size always involves a lot of people”, he stated.<\/p>\n

Still on this aspect, Lui\u0301s Nunes said that he has been talking to local businesspeople to be alert to any type of investment made in the province.<\/p>\n

The province of Benguela has a geographical extension of 39 thousand, 827 square kilometers and ten municipalities. Its population is estimated at two million and 33 thousand inhabitants (2014 census).<\/p>\n
