Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angola and Kenya signed eleven agreements to increase bilateral cooperation, in a ceremony led by the Presidents of both countries, respectively, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o and William Ruto.<\/b><\/p>\n

These are agreements in the fields of health, maintenance and conservation of animal life, maritime transport, agriculture, tourism, geology and mines, oil, youth, diplomacy and capacity building in the field of public administration and information and communication technology.<\/p>\n

After signing the agreements, the President of Angola, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, highlighted their importance in bringing the two peoples closer together.<\/p>\n

The Head of State said that Angola is open to providing all support to help the Kenyan oil industry, a beginner in this sector, to develop the same.<\/p>\n

These instruments, all areas of cooperation, demonstrate the interest of both States.<\/p>\n

He said that cooperation in the area of \u200b\u200btourism will allow Angola to gather Kenya’s experience for the development of the Okavango Zambezi project.<\/p>\n

In the transport sector, he emphasized the need to resume air links between Nairobi and Luanda, with both flag carriers, in order to increase commercial exchanges.<\/p>\n

In this sense, he welcomed Kenya’s initiative in unilaterally signing the visa suppression agreement on all passports, guaranteeing that it will be reciprocal, as the Angolan government only needs to make some adjustments to align with the same idea.<\/p>\n

He admitted that it is necessary to correct the current situation in which exports and imports are more focused on continents other than Africa.<\/p>\n

Therefore, he stated that trade between Angola and Kenya should increase substantially, and the regional integration taking place in East Africa should extend to other regions of the continent.<\/p>\n

The President of the Republic of Angola, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, paid a state visit to Kenya at the invitation of his Kenyan counterpart, Wiliam Ruto.<\/p>\n
