Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan Ministry of Finance was distinguished, Friday, in Washington, United States of America (USA), for the success in the policies applied in negotiations with the USA.<\/b><\/p>\n

A note from the Angolan Embassy in the USA that states that the distinction took place at the 2023 Annual Conference of the Export and Import Bank of the United States (EXIM Bank).<\/p>\n

The extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Angola to the United States, Agostinho Van-Du\u0301nem, received the award.<\/p>\n

The companies Omatapalo, from Angola, and SunAfrica, from the United States, were also awarded awards, the latter being responsible for the installation, in four provinces in southern Angola, of 728 MW of large-scale solar PV, solar mini-grids with battery storage , home energy kits and drinking water.<\/p>\n

According to the document, on June 1, 2023, the Board of Directors of EXIM Bank approved a transaction worth US$907 million, the largest in the history of EXIM Bank, to support the construction of two solar energy power plants in Angola.<\/p>\n

The project, the note also states, was initially announced during the 2022 G7 Summit by President Joe Biden, to promote the construction of digital and energy infrastructures around the world.<\/p>\n
