Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The MPLA’s first secretary in Lunda Norte, Deolinda Vilarinho, stated this Saturday that the diamond subsector has made significant progress in the last five years, with the implementation of projects that have allowed adding more value to the raw mineral.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking at the mass event that ended the march in support of the leadership of the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, highlighted the construction of the Saurimo Diamond Pole (Luanda Sul) where five diamond cutting factories are installed, which significantly contribute to reducing costs of companies in the subsector that were forced to export the raw product to be polished.<\/p>\n

He announced that in the coming months the province of Lunda Norte, specifically in the city of Dundo, will gain a diamond hub, where four cutting factories will be installed.<\/p>\n

Another 29 factories are expected to be built by the next economic year, 25 of which will be in the Saurimo diamond hub and four in the future Dundo hub.<\/p>\n

Angola currently has seven cutting factories.<\/p>\n

Currently, 16 companies linked to diamond exploration and around 41 projects are in prospection operate in the Angolan market.<\/p>\n

He said that in order to boost and increase the volume of tax revenue, through commercial exchanges along the borders with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), from next year onwards, the rehabilitation of the Nzanji\/Canzar sections up to the border of Tchicolondo and Cuango\/Cafunfo\/Luremo.<\/p>\n

He also announced the resumption of rehabilitation works on National Road 170, Camaxilo\/Lubolq\/Xinge, covering a length of 210 kilometers.<\/p>\n

According to the leader, despite adverse conditions internationally and internally, the MPLA, as a Government, is determined to continue moving towards economic development, guaranteeing quality governance in favor of the development and benefits of the populations.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, he said that to face and\/or meet the demand of the local job market, the government is working with the Ministry of Higher Education, to implement technical and medical courses on the future university campus, under construction in city \u200b\u200bof Dundo.<\/p>\n

The infrastructure will include 74 classrooms, a rectory building, two rooms for mock trials, residences for students and teachers, libraries, auditorium, administrative and leisure areas, among other areas inherent to academic activity.<\/p>\n

As for Angosat-2 services, he announced that the technological system is being installed in the commune of Canzar, municipality of Cambulo, for the population to begin using.<\/p>\n

He highlighted that all these projects aim to build a peaceful, fair society and guarantee social progress in Lunda Norte.<\/p>\n

The march, whose objective was to encourage the Angolan Executive to continue with measures aimed at accelerating the national economy and harmonious development, was attended by MPLA activists, members of civil society, non-governmental organizations, among others.<\/p>\n
