Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Director of the Provincial Office for Economic and Integrated Development, Pedro Ginge called on businesspeople to invest in the construction of gas stations in municipalities, aiming to allow cars to be refueled and meet other needs.<\/b><\/p>\n

This measure arises due to the scarcity of gas stations in the interior of the province, which makes it difficult to supply vehicles and develop economic activities resulting from the use of fuels and lubricants.<\/p>\n

The person in charge made this appeal when speaking at the opening of the 1st seminar to encourage the construction and rehabilitation of private sector gas stations, promoted by the Petroleum Derivatives Regulatory Institute (IRDP), in partnership with the government of the province of Malanje, which aimed to encourage the business class to invest in this sector.<\/p>\n

To this end, he said that the government is open to negotiations and has spaces to provide for initiatives of this kind, considering that in addition to contributing to the provision of services and economic development, a gas station creates several jobs.<\/p>\n

He highlighted that the licensing of mining activities, as well as oil and gas, is a municipal responsibility, as a result of administrative deconcentration and centralization, which makes it easier for entrepreneurs to opt for this business.<\/p>\n

Regarding the seminar, the director considered it an added value, as it provided entrepreneurs with tools and encouragement to invest in the oil sector.<\/p>\n

In turn, the deputy director of the Petroleum Derivatives Regulatory Institute, Anto\u0301nio Feijo\u0301 said that Malanje currently has 25 filling stations, 10 of which are out of order, spread across just 6 of the 14 municipalities, a reduced number to meet the province’s demand.<\/p>\n

He recalled that a containerized gas station costs around 100 thousand US dollars, so interested parties should count on financing from commercial banks.<\/p>\n

The seminar covered topics related to the mapping of gas stations in the province, business opportunities in the oil sector, as well as the storage, distribution and marketing of fuels.<\/p>\n
