{"id":47994,"date":"2023-10-26T16:55:24","date_gmt":"2023-10-26T16:55:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/?p=47994"},"modified":"2023-10-26T15:34:36","modified_gmt":"2023-10-26T15:34:36","slug":"more-than-200-thousand-tons-of-merchandise-enter-santa-clara","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/more-than-200-thousand-tons-of-merchandise-enter-santa-clara","title":{"rendered":"More than 200 thousand tons of merchandise enter Santa Clara"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola. <\/strong><\/span><b>Two hundred and 10 thousand tons of various goods is the volume of goods imported, in the period from January to the present date, at the Customs Delegation of Santa Clara, province of Cunene.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The information was provided this Wednesday by the head of Santa Clara Customs Litigation, Felismina Filipe, on the sidelines of a visit carried out by employees of the delegation, in Cunene, as part of the festivities marking the 48th anniversary of the only news agency in the country. country, to be celebrated on October 30th.<\/p>\n<p>According to the person responsible, the majority of the goods in question are linked to the mining, oil and food sectors.<\/p>\n<p>He also pointed out the registration, in small consignments, of goods linked to household appliances, agricultural seeds and fruits.<\/p>\n<p>He made it known that a large part of the products come from South Africa and to a small extent from Namibia, which is destined for the eastern, southern provinces and the country&#8217;s capital (Luanda).<\/p>\n<p>Without specifying data, he said that the levels of import and export of goods registered a decrease, as a result of the economic and financial paradigm that the country is going through.<\/p>\n<p>Felismina Filipe highlighted that, despite the situation, the Santa Clara land border continues to be the main entry point for imported goods from the South region, highlighting that the institution registers 20 to 21 trucks of products every day.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding exports, he highlighted the registration of 42 tons of products such as sugar cane and massango, which are destined for Namibia, carried out by private citizens who take products from Angola to the neighboring country every day.<\/p>\n<p>He clarified that national products for export have a customs duty of 0.5 percent.<\/p>\n<p>He mentioned that, within the work dynamics, AGT, in collaboration with other bodies that operate in the border activity process, has carried out some actions to combat informality, such as tax evasion, fuel and used clothing smuggling.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe situation of tax evasion constitutes one of the main contradictions recorded, because, normally, citizens make purchases in Namibia and return using local routes to avoid paying customs fees\u201d, he maintained.<\/p>\n<p>In view of the situation, he said that the agency has a tax post, next to the bridge over the Cunene River (Xangongo), which has repelled all acts of tax evasion, coming from Namibia to other parts of the country.<\/p>\n<p>Press was created in July 1975, under the name Age\u0302ncia Nacional Angola Press (ANAP).
