Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The need for greater involvement of communities in the implementation and monitoring of the execution of the General State Budget (OGE) was defended, this Friday, by the director of Action for Rural Development and Environment (ADRA) in the province of Cunene, Alice Peso.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking during a reflection meeting on the challenges of the OGE and its implications for the implementation of public programs, he said it is essential to measure and monitor budgetary investments, as essential components to improve public financial management.<\/p>\n

To this end, he highlighted the need to promote a more efficient and transparent allocation, as well as increase expenses for children, especially in the Education, Health, Water, Social Protection and Agriculture sectors.<\/p>\n

Along this path, he said that ADRA, in partnership with OPSA and MOSAIKO (Institute for Citizenship), projects \u201cAnalysis of the General State Budget 2022-2023\u201d, financed with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), aiming to include communities in public life.<\/p>\n

These actions, he explained, aim to share with state and non-state actors the main findings of the OGE 2023 and their links with the results on the rights of citizens and children in particular.<\/p>\n

He also highlighted reflection on the challenges of the OGE and its implications for the implementation of public programs, with a view to OGE\/2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe national and international commitments that Angola has made within the scope of the social and human development of the population, in general, and children and women, in particular, will only be achieved if public policies aimed at these fringes are effective and efficient in terms of resources. financial\u201d, he asserted.<\/p>\n

The official recognized that the country has faced enormous political, social and economic challenges, especially since 2020, with the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic and current conflicts that have caused an economic, social crisis and family precariousness.<\/p>\n

ADRA is an Angolan Non-Governmental Organization, operating for 33 years in the country, with actions linked to the construction of democratic and sustainable development, socially, economically and environmentally fair, and with the process of national reconciliation and peace for Angola.<\/p>\n

ADRA’s intervention in the province of Cunene began, in 1996, with the implementation of a project to support the development of communities in the municipality of Ombandja.<\/p>\n
