Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>One hundred and forty-seven young people from different municipalities received, on Friday, in Luanda, their certificates of completion of professional and community internships, in an initiative by Development Workshop (DW) Angola.<\/b><\/p>\n

This is the twenty-second opportunity that DW has granted to young Angolans, under the social contributions of Block 18, with an investment of around 450 thousand dollars.<\/p>\n

This internship program was aimed at the areas of health, computer engineering, agronomy and environment, economics, architecture and urbanism, business management, law, sociology and accounting.<\/p>\n

This edition covered eight provinces of Angola (Zaire, Luanda, Ui\u0301ge, Benguela, Kwanza Norte, Huambo, Cunene and Malanje) and had the participation of 25 institutions, including public and private, for the inclusion of 100% of the trainees, of which 45% women.<\/p>\n

It involved a minimum of 25 Angolan professionals who worked on strengthening the technical skills of trainees, as well as creating new jobs and social benefits for peri-urban and rural communities.<\/p>\n

Present at the certificate granting session, the Secretary of State for Labor and Social Security, Pedro Jose\u0301 Filipe, highlighted that this training is opportune to launch and integrate young people into the job market.<\/p>\n

According to Pedro Filipe, these editions were only possible due to the collaboration of public and private companies that joined DW to make this Project viable, which now has Azul Energy and the National Oil and Gas Agency as strategic partners.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn behalf of the Angolan Government and the young people who benefited from these internship opportunities, I want to thank the companies that spared no effort and have repeatedly financed and sponsored these internships\u201d, he expressed.<\/p>\n

The Secretary of State for Labor and Social Security took the opportunity to call on other companies dissociated from the petroleum sector to participate and finance similar initiatives.<\/p>\n

However, he praised the company DW for the consistency shown in this initiative, which he considers noble, using the best tools for the technical and social improvement of the young people who participated in the aforementioned training.<\/p>\n

The government official made it known that, in order to materialize and help young people with professional preparation, a work management project for the next four years was approved by the Council of Ministers.<\/p>\n

This work management instrument will carry out and finance around 148 thousand internships with the intervention of social partners.<\/p>\n

In turn, the Secretary of State for Higher Education, Euge\u0302nio Adolfo Alves da Silva, recognized the hard work of the company DW and stated that it represents an important condition for graduates to acquire fundamental skills for the exercise of future professional activity.<\/p>\n

“(…..) it is not enough to just have knowledge, desire and enthusiasm. It is also necessary to demonstrate knowledge. Therefore, the internship is fundamental to developing these skills for work”, he observed.<\/p>\n

He congratulated the interns for completing this process, which will certainly be an added value, wishing them success both in their professional insertion and at work.<\/p>\n

“I also want to value the commitment and sponsorship of the companies that financially support this program that gives consistency to higher education”, expressed the public manager.<\/p>\n

For the administrator of the National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG), Jelson dos Santos, the finalists must apply this knowledge in practice and additionally obtain skills for their professional development.<\/p>\n

He stressed that Angola is a country with a large proportion of young and working-age population, which is one of the reasons why ANPG encourages its partners to create sustainable projects in the lives of young people and in communities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe understand that ANPG, in the oil exploration process, must benefit all Angolans, which is why we believe that investment in education is the right way to have future professionals and technically qualified staff”, he highlighted.<\/p>\n

According to beneficiary Lui\u0301sa Cachota, from the clinical analysis course, the internship went well, having gained the greatest professional benefit, which now leads her to consider herself a professional suitable for the job market.<\/p>\n

“The internship was very good, because it allowed me to put into practice what I learned at the academy. And for eight months I was able to make the most of it”, said the young woman (on behalf of the trainees).<\/p>\n

DW Angola is an NGO that has been working in the country since 1981 and is committed to implementing improvement and livelihood programs for disadvantaged communities, contributing to the materialization of numerous projects with a positive impact on the development of Angola.<\/p>\n
