Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan ambassador to the United States of America (USA), Agostinho Van-Du\u0301nem, assured, on Thursday, in Washington, DC, the commitment to achieving the objectives of the Southern African Development Community (SADC).<\/b><\/p>\n

The diplomat made these references during the ceremony for the transfer of the presidency of the Group of Ambassadors of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries, accredited in this country.<\/p>\n

At the event, Ambassador Agostinho Van-Du\u0301nem stated that the diplomatic representation \u201cproposes to carry out a program that ensures the continuity of the work carried out by the G-SADC and that its results can contribute to the work to be carried out by the President of the Repu\u0301blica, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, during the leadership of our regional organization, bearing in mind the organization’s vision for 2050 and the Regional Strategic Indicative Plan 2030\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe mission of the SADC Group (G-SADC) in Washington is to create bridges and conditions with partners that help in the pursuit of the general objectives of our organization and, in particular, the pro-tempore presidency of the SADC of the Republic of Angola\u201d, he stated the ambassador.<\/p>\n

At this same ceremony, diplomats from SADC member countries thanked the ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Congo for the effort and dedication demonstrated during the term of the presidency now transferred to the ambassador of Angola, Agostinho Van-Du\u0301nem.<\/p>\n

For its mandate, Angola prioritizes the agenda linked to human and financial capital, the main factors for sustainable industrialization in the SADC region.<\/p>\n

Angola holds the rotating Presidency of SADC, which includes Botswana, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Comoros, Eswatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n
