{"id":48486,"date":"2023-11-01T07:03:28","date_gmt":"2023-11-01T07:03:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/?p=48486"},"modified":"2023-11-01T05:39:00","modified_gmt":"2023-11-01T05:39:00","slug":"adra-defends-continued-investments-in-health","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/adra-defends-continued-investments-in-health","title":{"rendered":"ADRA defends continued investments in health"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola. <\/strong><\/span><b>The general director of ADRA, Carlos Cambuta, defended, this Tuesday, in Huambo, that it is important that the General State Budget (OGE-2024) maintains the same pace of attention to the agriculture, education and health sectors.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The head of the Action for Rural Development and Environment (ADRA), who spoke during the workshop on sharing the results of analysis of the General State Budget (OGE-2023), said that the expectation of the Angolan non-governmental organization is that the attention to the social and economic sector is maintained, aiming to combat hunger and poverty.<\/p>\n<p>Carlos Cambuta highlighted, overall, the budget increase, in the last two years, in the education, health and social protection sector, which contributed to the growth and social well-being of the population.<\/p>\n<p>In the economic field, he said it is important to understand agriculture as a crucial sector for national development, as it has multiple effects on citizens&#8217; lives, such as direct access to food, employment, financial resources and other essential benefits.<\/p>\n<p>He highlighted that, in the DRA&#8217;s view, the Angolan Executive needs to progressively increase more funds for the agriculture sector, ensuring that, at least, by 2027, the target of 10 percent is reached, given its importance in the combating hunger and poverty.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the workshop on sharing the results of the analysis of the General State Budget (OGE) 2023, in an ADRA initiative, Carlos Cambuta said that the event aimed to contribute to citizens&#8217; literacy and participation in the country&#8217;s governance actions.<\/p>\n<p>He considered it positive that, nowadays, citizens have access to the OGE from the internet, normally, after the Angolan Executive presents the document to the National Assembly, thus contributing to the necessary transparency.<\/p>\n<p>He mentioned that ADRA, based on the findings made in OGE-2023, decided to involve different sectors of society, each in its own scope of action, for the social and economic analyzes required by the document.<\/p>\n<p>Held in one of the private academic institutions in the province of Huambo, the workshop was attended by members of the local government, municipal administrators, national and international non-governmental organizations, religious entities, traditional authorities, academics and agricultural cooperatives.<\/p>\n<p>The OGE proposal for the Economic Year for 2024 presented, this Tuesday, to the National Assembly by the Angolan Executive includes revenues estimated at 24.6 billion Kwanzas and expenses set at the same amount for the same period.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding OGE-2023, it approved revenues estimated at around 20.1 billion Kwanzas and expenses set at the same amount.<\/p>\n<p>The General State Budget is the main instrument of the economic and financial policy of the Angolan State which, expressed in terms of values, for a defined period of time, demonstrates the action plan to be carried out and determines the sources of financing.<\/p>\n<p>ADRA, created in 1990, has the mission of contributing to the sustainable development of communities in Angola, especially rural communities, by improving the living conditions of the most disadvantaged groups.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\">Angola<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola.
