Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The multinational De Beers Exploration Holdings Limited reported, this Tuesday, in Luanda, to the Angolan Head of State, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, the progress achieved with research carried out in several diamond areas in Angola. <\/b><\/p>\n

At the end of an audience granted by the President of the Republic, the chairman of the board of directors of De Beers, Al Cook, told the press that the meeting served to report the progress made since the multinational’s return to the Angolan market.<\/p>\n

Al Cook highlighted, among others, investments in large projects, including electromagnetic research, the first phase of which is nearing completion.<\/p>\n

The progress achieved, continued Al Cook, is due to the reforms implemented by President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, such as adherence to the international initiative for transparency in extractive industries, exchange rate liberalization and visa exemptions, factors that encouraged the return to the Angolan market a long time ago. two years.<\/p>\n

Also according to Al Cook, the South African company also expressed to the Head of State its intention to accelerate and expand its investments in Angola, particularly in the diamond sector, in close partnership with ENDIAMA.<\/p>\n

As a result of an agreement with the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, De Beers is carrying out initial prospecting for primary and secondary diamond deposits in the Muconda (Lunda-Sul) and Lumboma (Luanda Norte) concessions.<\/p>\n

After leaving Angola in 2012, due to the global economic crisis, the multinational invested more than 33 million dollars in diamond exploration in Lunda Norte and Lunda Sul.<\/p>\n
