{"id":48503,"date":"2023-11-01T16:09:56","date_gmt":"2023-11-01T16:09:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/?p=48503"},"modified":"2023-11-01T15:36:46","modified_gmt":"2023-11-01T15:36:46","slug":"adra-defends-robust-oge-for-the-social-sector","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/adra-defends-robust-oge-for-the-social-sector","title":{"rendered":"ADRA defends &#8220;robust&#8221; OGE for the social sector"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola. <\/strong><\/span><b>The NGO Acc\u0327a\u0303o de Desenvolvimento Rural e Ambiente (ADRA) &#8211; Hui\u0301la and Namibe defends the need for the Government to \u201cestablish an annual public budget that provides for more robust expenses for key areas, such as agriculture, education and health, areas that impact lives of families.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The organization held Tuesday, in Lubango, the public launch of the sectoral analysis on the 2023 General State Budget (OGE), in a Provincial Workshop, which also addressed Local Authorities as an instrument of development, pointing out their position public policy regarding investments and priorities for the social sector.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the opening of the event, the director of ADRA in Hui\u0301la and Namibe, Simione Justino Chiculo, highlighted that allocating resources to these segments implies having a robust budget for children, education and health, which until now has been incipient, perhaps due to lack of discussions.<\/p>\n<p>The scrutiny of the study, according to the person responsible, focused on the allocation of funds for the different social sectors, with a focus on Social Protection, Water, Sanitation, Health and Child Survival, as well as Education, in the OGE.<\/p>\n<p>He highlighted that this sectoral analysis of the budget and the implementation of the advocacy action plan aim to create evidence on budgets and their links with results on children&#8217;s and women&#8217;s rights.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, in this way it is possible to promote a more efficient and transparent allocation, increase expenses for families, make more information available to citizens, promote debate, participation and increase budget literacy on one of the main public policy instruments.<\/p>\n<p>He detailed that the publication and sectoral analysis of the budget and the implementation of an advocacy action plan aim to provide evidence on budgets and their links with results on children&#8217;s and women&#8217;s rights and at the same time promote a more efficient and transparent allocation, as well as increasing expenses for families.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe national and international commitments that Angola has assumed in the context of the social and human development of the population, in particular towards children and women, will only be achieved if public policies aimed at these sectors are effective, efficient and in terms of financial resources are allocated resources that meet the needs of these fringe partners\u201d, he stressed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\">Angola<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola.
