Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The lack of transport faced by the provincial Ju-jitsu association could compromise the presence of the 21 Huambo athletes qualified for the unified senior National Championship of the sport.<\/b><\/p>\n

The fact was made known Tuesday, by the president of the sports association, Jaime Abel Carlos, who expressed concern about the situation, just under three days before the start of the national championship, taking place from 4 to November 5th, in Luanda (capital of the country).<\/p>\n

He mentioned that the lack of transport constitutes the main difficulty for Huambo’s participation in the competition.<\/p>\n

He informed that the fact is the result of the lack of response, so far, to the request made to the local office of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports regarding the need to make the bus available that has transported the Huambo delegations to national competitions.<\/p>\n

As an alternative, he added that the association is thinking of restricting Huambo’s selection to nine athletes, out of the 21 planned, whose tickets will be covered with its own resources, if a means of transport capable of taking them all does not appear.<\/p>\n

Of the nine, he informed that six will be male, in the categories of minus 56, 62, 77 and 85 kilograms, while the remaining three will be female, who will compete in the categories of minus 45, 56, 62 and 69.<\/p>\n

The head of the youth and sports department, Adalzira Capingala, confirmed receipt of the request from the provincial Ju-jitsu association, regarding the need to provide transport for athletes to travel to the national championship.<\/p>\n

However, he said that the usual vehicle, which has been used for these purposes, is damaged and undergoing repairs.<\/p>\n

Despite the situation, the president of the Ju-jitsu association points to winning the competition as a goal to achieve, in order to improve third place in the last edition.<\/p>\n

Jaime Abel Carlos assured that the province continues to prepare to achieve this objective, despite recognizing the potential of its opponents.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, it confirmed the absence of the 2021 African champion, in the under 69 category, Felicidade Paulo Cassinda \u201cFu\u0301ria\u201d, for unknown reasons, although it is known that she was recovering from an injury she contracted in the Angola Cup, held last April.<\/p>\n
