Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The National Canoeing Team will compete in the African Championship from the 21st to the 27th of this month, in Abuja (Nigeria) in search of qualification for the 2024 Olympic Games, in Paris, France.<\/b><\/p>\n

Six athletes are part of the Angolan team for this “operation”, namely Manuel Anto\u0301nio and Benilson Sanda (canoeing), Jairo Domingos, Sima\u0303o Camazaulo and Lucre\u0301cia Gomes (Kayak), in addition to paracanoe Avelino Almeida (for the disabled).<\/p>\n

In this event, Angola will also compete with the pairs made up of Jairo Domingos and Sima\u0303o Camazaulo and Benilson Sanda\/Manuel Anto\u0301nio.<\/p>\n

It will also feature a mixed duo (male\/female), formed by Jairo Domingos and Lucre\u0301cia Gomes.<\/p>\n

The event will qualify 12 boats from the African continent for Paris’2024, with the qualifying events being C1 500m and C2 1000m, K1 500 meters and K2 1000m, individual and double, respectively.<\/p>\n

The canoeists’ call to the national team, led by Ce\u0301sar Fidalgo, is the result of positive results in tests carried out during training.<\/p>\n

The last Angolan participation in the Olympic Games took place in 2012, in London, England, with Nelson Henriques and Fortunato Pacavira, while the \u201cAfrican\u201d one took place in 2019, in Tunisia.<\/p>\n
