Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan Agricultural Production Promotion Program expects to benefit from a budget allocation of 148 billion 327 million 740 thousand and 143 kwanzas, which represents 0.60% of the proposed General State Budget (OGE\/2024), which foresees revenues and expenses valued at Kz 24.7 billion.<\/b><\/p>\n

In comparative terms, the budget for the respective Agricultural Program estimates an increase of 94.1 billion kwanzas, in relation to the current OGE\/2023, which expected to allocate a total of Kz 54.1 billion for this sector.<\/p>\n

According to the OGE\/2024 proposal, already in possession of the National Assembly for its discussion and consequent approval, of the total amount foreseen for the agricultural sector 79 billion 189 million 671 thousand and 747 kwanzas (0.32%) will be allocated for an average annual surface of 1.86 hectares per family.<\/p>\n

The budget also foresees allocating Kz 7.7 billion (0.03%) for five Agrarian Development Station (EDA) units, 1.9 billion (0.01) for 4,465 tons of seeds distributed, 757 million 951 thousand for four units of irrigated perimeters, as well as nine million 946 thousand and 166 kwanzas for the production of seven million 591 thousand and 439 tons of cereals (corn, massango, massambala and rice).<\/p>\n

Also part of the budget allocation is the production of 12,360 tons of coffee, valued at 10 billion 10 million 641 thousand and 483 kwanzas (0.04%), while Kz 400 million will be for agri-food quality laboratories and 11 billion 527 million 701 thousand and 416 (0.05%) for agricultural research infrastructures.<\/p>\n

As for livestock, the OGE plans to make more than 15 billion kwanzas available for the production of 440 thousand 261 tons of meat, as well as more than 16 billion kwanzas for the vaccination of thousands of animals, in addition to allocating more than five billion for the Huambo Bioveterinary Center and Vaccine Factory.<\/p>\n

Forests<\/p>\n

For the forestry sector, it is planned to allocate 12 billion 449 million 395 thousand and 705 kwanzas (0.05%) to promote the exploration and sustainable management of forest resources, of which 1.8 billion will be for planting 96 hectares.<\/p>\n

Of this package, 10.2 billion will go to Forest Warehouses and Forestry and Beekeeping Development Stations, while 350 million and 100 thousand will go to the production of 84 tons of honey.<\/p>\n
