Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angola has promoted sustainable development, equal treatment, stability, social peace and the guarantee of more justice, said, this Sunday, in Lucknow, India, the president of the Supreme Court (TS), Joel Leonardo.<\/b><\/p>\n

In his speech at the 24th International Conference of the World’s Chief Justices, Joel Leonardo said that these actions, currently underway in Angola, are the basis for the creation of an International Anti-Corruption Court with a view to good governance.<\/p>\n

The proposal to create the aforementioned court, he explained, requires the need to establish a new independent jurisdictional paradigm, with international fullness capable of responding to current challenges.<\/p>\n

According to the judge, the creation of an International Anti-Corruption Court calls for a permanent dialogue between the world judiciary for more comprehensive justice at the service of humanity.<\/p>\n

Accordingly, he welcomed this initiative in the perspective that it places such an important issue on the international judicial agenda, in the interest of progress and development of all the peoples of the world.<\/p>\n

He mentioned that the responsibilities of the courts in relation to the fundamental mission of promoting peace and social stability require joint actions to protect essential values \u200b\u200band the universal affirmation of the dignity of the human person.<\/p>\n

Economic crimes<\/p>\n

He said that social inequalities resulting from phenomena linked to economic crimes, with emphasis on corruption, have made it impossible to materialize the ideals of the United Nations Charter.<\/p>\n

\u201cHuman life is an asset that will always be protected anywhere in the world, whether in Asia or Africa, in Europe or America, the protection of the human person must deserve priority on judicial agendas,\u201d he clarified.<\/p>\n

He recalled that the world economy is currently attacked by sophisticated criminal networks, through properly organized cross-border criminal sequences.<\/p>\n

Economies, he highlighted, are crushed in an instant, as in just under five minutes, from any part of the world, organized groups can destabilize the economies of 4 or 5 countries simultaneously.<\/p>\n

For these reasons, the judge defended the holding of more conferences of this kind and the reformulation of the current United Nations system.<\/p>\n

The conference, which began on Wednesday and ends on Tuesday, has the motto “Uniting the world for children through applicable global legislation and effective global governance”.<\/p>\n
