Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Social Action, Family and Promotion of Women (MASFAMU), Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, reiterated, this Monday, in Luanda, the Angolan government’s engagement in guaranteeing access to social services for people in situations of vulnerability.<\/b><\/p>\n

The minister was speaking at the Third National Conference on Social Action, which takes place under the motto \u201cLet us strengthen the Comprehensive Intervention of Social Action, Aiming to Improve the Quality of Life of Citizens\u201d.<\/p>\n

The minister stated that the issue in question concerns the elderly, children, people with disabilities, people with albinism, prisoners, as well as individuals without family support.<\/p>\n

He explained that the implementation of this service requires the attention of municipal administrations, ministerial departments, members of the social action council, with a view to finding better resolution methods.<\/p>\n

According to the minister, the guiding document establishes the theoretical and methodological bases for a platform integrated into the national system of social action that allows individuals and families in vulnerable situations to be guaranteed access to basic social services, the realization of their rights, the reduction of risks and negative effects.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Family Social Action and Women\u2019s Promotion sector is called upon to implement the national social action policy combined with the basic law on social protection and other national and international legal documents.\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, he mentioned that two monetary social transfer programs were implemented from 2018 to 2023, namely \u201cThe Child Value\u201d, focusing on children under five years of age, in the provinces of Bie\u0301, Moxico and Ui\u0301ge with a coverage of 36 thousand and 298 beneficiaries and the \u201cKwenda\u201d project implemented in 62 municipalities in 18 provinces, with one million, one hundred and thirty-eight thousand and seventy people registered.<\/p>\n

From the aforementioned program, according to Ana Paula, eight hundred and twenty-two thousand and 433 households have already benefited from monetary social transfers, having highlighted that its duration was extended from one to two years.<\/p>\n

He indicated that monetary social transfers have become a channeling instrument for reducing vulnerability combined with other sustainable intervention models, such as strengthening the productive inclusion of families and boosting the municipalization of social action.<\/p>\n

In addition, he assured that the system contributes to reducing families’ vulnerabilities, such as the implementation of the local development and poverty combat program that has already served one million, three hundred and twenty thousand, two hundred and thirty-seven families, and also highlighted the projects linked productive inclusion, social production, women’s empowerment, the empowerment of young girls in urban and rural areas, school meals and social infrastructure.<\/p>\n

The two-day event aims to present an overview of the activities carried out over the last five years in the field of social protection.<\/p>\n

It is also intended to promote reflection on comprehensive intervention as a response to people and families who find themselves in vulnerable situations.<\/p>\n
