Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Dance Company \u201cPalasa Dance Company\u201d, sculptor Ana Suzana David (Kianda) and filmmaker Carlos Conceic\u0327a\u0303o are some of the winners of the National Culture and Arts Award 2023 Edition, in the categories of dance, plastic arts, cinema and audiovisuals , announced this Tuesday, in Luanda.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the president of the award jury, Maria Jose\u0301 Faria Ramos, who announced the winners at a press conference, the dance company Palasa Dance Company was distinguished for its prominence and excellence in presenting its show at Casa das Artes\u201d Double dose”.<\/p>\n

Sculptor Ana Suzana David, distinguished for her work developed with different contemporary materials, her work is based on constant experimentation with sustainable materials that do not harm the environment.<\/p>\n

In turn, Carlos Conceic\u0327a\u0303o stood out in the film \u201cNac\u0327a\u0303o Valente\u201d for its aesthetic, cultural, historical approach and the international dimension it reached, being shown in cinemas in the United States and Europe, including festivals.<\/p>\n

The filmmaker’s films have as their starting point an attempt to recover the director’s individual memory, a rediscovery of African roots and establishing bridges between Angola and the rest of Lusophony, as a major project of historical revisitation.<\/p>\n

In his Filmography, the following films stand out: \u201cSerpenta\u0301rio\u201d, a dystopian film, recorded in the Namib desert, portrays a boy who wanders through a post-catastrophe Angola, while the film \u201cNacao Valente\u201d, invokes the ghosts of Angolan colonial past.<\/p>\n

The poet and prose writer Joa\u0303o Tala, distinguished in the literature category, was notable for the prestige and critical fortune that his artistic production possesses, as well as for his thought of multifaceted value, for the way in which he opens up the problems of cultures in Angola (Kimbundu, Umbundu and Cokwe) in the post-independence period, memories of conflicts and the post-war period, Bantu cosmology and the issue of women.<\/p>\n

The musician, composer and instrumentalist, Miguel Francisco Dos Santos Rodolfo \u201cKituxi\u201d was chosen for his career and contribution to the preservation of traditional Angolan musical styles and instruments, namely: the hungo, the puita, the kissanji, the dikanza, the mukindo and ngoma as a way of affirming and safeguarding national culture.<\/p>\n

Amostra Nacional de Teatro was awarded in the theater category, for the continuous effort made in promoting and valuing theatrical activity, social, didactic, cultural and artistic impact.<\/p>\n

The jury highlights that the National Theater Sample is an event that aims to promote Angolan theater with training actions, tourism and shows, encourage unity among theater groups in Angola and showcase the theater that is produced in the province of Ui\u0301ge for the National community. international, an original village of the playwright and actor Maieno Antonio Zambo, director of the MZ theater-organ group responsible for the production of the aforementioned Sample.<\/p>\n

In the Humanities and Social Sciences, the prize went to the Collective of Authors From the Collection: \u201cSeveral languages, one Nation Let us build the Future\u201d.<\/p>\n
