Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The government of the province of Bengo has a budget of approximately 58 thousand 839 million 454 thousand 830 Kwanzas for the 2024 financial year, which will be applied to capital expenditure, personnel and subsidies and current transfers.<\/b><\/p>\n

This value represents a reduction of around 6.75 percent, 4 thousand 259 million 82 thousand 755 Kwanzas less compared to the previous figure, in which the amount was 63 thousand 98 million 537 thousand 585 Kwanzas.<\/p>\n

In this budget, the largest share was spent on personnel, which represents a value in the order of 36 thousand 548 million 65 thousand 819 Kwanzas, representing around 62 percent of the total allocated to the province, against 26 million 596 thousand 284 million 166 Kwanzas of the 2023 financial year (42%).<\/p>\n

In terms of priorities, projects already underway will be implemented, such as the construction of small water systems in Nambuangongo, the drainage of the main street in sectors 4 and 7 of Panguila, the electrification of the Dembos Triangle, including Nambuangongo.<\/p>\n

The drainage of Largo Poupa la\u0301\/Gostoso sector 2 of Panguila, the completion of 15 residences in Tabi\/Ambriz, referring to the program of 200 housing units, among others.<\/p>\n

The governor of the province, Maria Anto\u0301nia Nelumba, said, in Caxito, in a meeting she held with deputies, that with the available funds it will be possible to complete ongoing projects, so that new projects can be registered in 2025.<\/p>\n

The coordinator of the group of deputies residing in Bengo, Joa\u0303o Mpilamosi Domingos, clarified that the province of Bengo was not the only one to suffer the cut in the OGE\/2024.<\/p>\n

Our commitment is to ensure that the smallest budget in the OGE does not continue to go to Bengo, because there are provinces that have the same size, population and contribution in terms of economic fabric, but have a slightly larger budget.<\/p>\n

He said there is a need to implement several projects and make more investments so that the business fabric is strong and dynamic, in order to contribute in terms of tax revenue to the State’s budget reserves.<\/p>\n
