Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Mobile brigades, as part of the unofficial electoral registration process, started activities in the localities of Mucundi, Mulemba (Menongue), Lupiri, Baixo Longa (Cuito Cuanavale), Luengue, Licua and Cutuilo (Mavinga) Jamba, Nerequinha and Tchipundo (Rivungo), in province of Cuando Cubango.<\/b><\/p>\n

The director of Registration and Administrative Modernization in Cuando Cubango, Nelson Armando, confirmed that the process is being supported, since Friday, by two MI-17 helicopters of the National Air Force (FAN), in operations which include, in addition to the mobile brigades, the transport of equipment and technicians from SISTEC who take care of the installation of the internet and voice system for connection with the central database of the official electoral registration.<\/p>\n

Part of the territory of Cu-ando Cubango is not covered by mobile phone operators, with FAN helicopters playing a key role in areas of difficult access, allowing brigades to arrive at the locations with the logistics and equipment necessary to carry out the process. . Director Nelson Armando said that the unofficial electoral registration in Cuando Cubango has the qualities, at the moment, of a dynamic process, counting on the commitment of all, to register the largest number of people, in order to allow them to vote in the August general elections next.<\/p>\n

The Registry and Administrative Modernization service in the province of Cuando Cubango takes into account the characteristics of the province, which make it complex, considering its territorial extension of 199,049 km2, with an estimated population of more than 700 thousand inhabitants), of which 260 thousand are potential voters (Population Census – 2014). These elements, in themselves, require the commitment of special means such as FAN aircraft and SISTEC technicians, according to the authorities.<\/p>\n

Director Nelson Armando underlined that a total of 30 One-Stop Public Service Desks were installed throughout the province’s territory, which are fully functioning in nine municipal seats and some communes, ensured by a total of 130 technicians, who, since beginning of the process, they have already updated the data of more than 60 thousand people.<\/p>\n
