Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The vice-governor of Bie\u0301 for the technical and infrastructure sectors, Edgar Hila\u0301rio, defended the need for the population to honor and preserve the achievements achieved with national independence, to allow the consolidation of Angola’s development.<\/b><\/p>\n

Edgar Hila\u0301rio spoke on behalf of the provincial governor, Pereira Alfredo, during the celebrations of November 11th, National Independence Day, held in the municipality of Camacupa.<\/p>\n

He recalled that many Angolans gave their lives to achieve independence, hence the need to honor them, maintaining an attitude of civility and peace.<\/p>\n

According to the vice-governor, National Independence brought many gains to the country, from the construction of various infrastructures in the areas of health, education, roads, bridges, energy, water, agriculture, to political-social growth.<\/p>\n

He also mentioned that during the 48 years of independence Angola managed to assert itself in the international community, respecting the defense of freedoms, peace and self-determination of the people.<\/p>\n

He also noted Angola’s contribution to conflict resolution, mainly in Africa.<\/p>\n

The administrator of the municipality of Camacupa, Deolinda Belvina Gonc\u0327alves, pointed out the gains that this region has achieved, with the implementation of several programs that impact local social life.<\/p>\n

Despite this, Deolinda Belvina Gonc\u0327alves requested the rehabilitation of national road no. 250, which connects Cuito to Camacupa, to accelerate the development of this municipality and guarantee better living conditions for its more than 200 thousand inhabitants.<\/p>\n

The festivities of the 48th anniversary of National Independence, which took place under the motto: “11 November, United for the Development of Angola”, were attended by representatives of UNITA, FNLA, MPLA, members of the Government and the general population.<\/p>\n
