{"id":49503,"date":"2023-11-14T17:28:26","date_gmt":"2023-11-14T17:28:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/?p=49503"},"modified":"2023-11-14T16:14:14","modified_gmt":"2023-11-14T16:14:14","slug":"essa-and-mea-launch-internship-vacancies-in-the-oil-sector","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/essa-and-mea-launch-internship-vacancies-in-the-oil-sector","title":{"rendered":"ESSA and MEA launch internship vacancies in the oil sector"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola. <\/strong><\/span><b>The Association of Autochthonous Companies for the Oil Industry of Angola (ASSEA), in partnership with the Muhatu Energy Angola (MEA) platform, launches, tomorrow, in Luanda, Ubuntu, an internship program aimed at final year students of technical-professional courses<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The objective is to provide students with the opportunity to interact in a real work environment, with a view to applying their knowledge in practical situations &#8211; the initiative prioritizes gender diversity, being exclusive to female students.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the female presence in the oil industry represents only 22 percent of the total workforce, with just 8 percent in technical areas.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These are numbers that highlight the pressing need to create significant opportunities for women in the energy industry\u201d, says Berta Rodrigues Issa, vice-president of ASSEA, in a press release sent.<\/p>\n<p>In the initial stage of the program, the target audience will be students from the National Petroleum Institute (INP) and 4th year students or graduates from the Instituto Superior Polite\u0301cnico de Tecnologia e Cie\u0302ncias (ISPTEC), who will begin by acquiring notions about the functioning and organization standards, in addition to obtaining knowledge about ISOs (International Organization Standards), culture and strategy of the institution. At the same time, continuing to quote the press release, during the internships they will also be informed about the procedures used, introduction to hygiene, safety and environment, as well as the Key Performance Indicators (KPI).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Interns must acquire practical knowledge in real engineering techniques, as well as skills for field work, following all applicable rules and regulations&#8221;, the document continues.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They will also be able to identify specific areas that require personal or professional growth and will be better prepared to face such challenges. They will feel more confident and prepared to take on a professional position in the oil and gas sector if a hiring opportunity arises&#8221; , adds Janice Faria, Executive Director of Enagol, one of the companies that is providing internships to students. The Ubuntu internship program will be paid and will last three months.
