Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Independence of the Republic of Angola, on November 11, 1975, facilitated the execution of a set of significant social and economic projects in the country’s municipalities, said, this Monday, in Luanda, the municipal administrator of Cacuaco, Auzi\u0301lio Jacob.<\/b><\/p>\n

When leading a lecture, on the theme \u201cThe Genesis of the National Liberation Struggle in Angola\u201d, promoted by the administration he represented, Auzi\u0301lio Jacob recognized that \u201cAngola’s independent administration facilitated the promotion, management and implementation of various social projects and economic\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter independence, Angola unfortunately entered a phase of conflict that consumed a large part of the country’s independent life. But, upon achieving peace in 2002, the country entered a period of reconstruction that is reflected in the daily life of Angolan citizens\u201d, he highlighted.<\/p>\n

Particularly regarding Cacuaco, administrator Auzi\u0301lio Jacob spoke about the various social and economic projects, with emphasis on the construction of schools, hospitals and roads.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe municipality of Cacuaco, in the last three years, has seen more than 100 kilometers of roads rehabilitated, which facilitates mobility within the towns. In addition to what has already been done, another 292 new projects were included in the 2023 budget, which is why we are awaiting the allocation of the budget for proper execution\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

He highlighted that within the scope of the locality’s investments, the Mayombe Maternal and Child Hospital, the Mulenvos Children’s Centers, 22 de Janeiro, at Eco-Campo, and Alto Kifangondo are scheduled to open soon.<\/p>\n

Regarding the emergence of secondary institutes in the district, the administrator recalled that during the last 24 months six new institutions of this level were built, in addition to three others built under his management.<\/p>\n

Cacuaco rose to the category of town on June 24, 1940 and, later, after national independence within the framework of the new Administrative Political Division, it became a municipality, with more than one million inhabitants, according to data from the 2014 General Census.<\/p>\n

Administratively, it is divided by the Urban Districts of Cacuaco, Kicolo, Mulenvos de Baixo and Sequele, as well as the Commune of Funda.<\/p>\n
