Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, formally received, this Monday, at the Presidential Palace, the letters of credentials of seven new resident and six non-resident ambassadors.<\/b><\/p>\n

These are the resident Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassadors, from the Kingdom of Belgium, Stephane Doppagne, from the French Republic, Sophie Aubert, from the European Union (EU), Rosa\u0301rio Bento, from Nicaragua, Roberto Morales Fuentes, from Cuba, Oscar Leon Gonzales, from Rwanda, Charles Rudakubana, and from the Arab Republic of Egypt, Naveen El Husseuny.<\/p>\n

As non-residents, the Statesman received letters of credentials from the ambassadors of Mauritius, Jean Franc\u0327ois Chaumiere, of the Federation of Canada, Sara Nicholls, of the Kingdom of Denmark, Elseberth Sondegaard Krone, of Jamaica, Joan Thoma\u0301s Medwars, of Ethiopia, Fortuna Dibaco Cizare, and from Georgia, Roland Beridze.<\/p>\n

The 56-year-old French ambassador, who has worked in Latin America and the Middle East, highlighted as a priority the preparation of the Conference of the International Fund for Agrarian Development (IFAD) scheduled for December, in France, which will be co-chaired by the host Statesman, Emmanuel Macron, and the Angolan Head of State, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o.<\/p>\n

He added that actions aimed at consolidating economic relations and existing bilateral projects will continue.<\/p>\n

The new EU Permanent Representative, Rosa\u0301rio Bento, a 53-year-old Portuguese national, defended the continued reinforcement of cooperation for the diversification of the Angolan economy, governance and human development.<\/p>\n

Rosa\u0301rio Bento considers it essential to strengthen cooperation in the field of regional security, stability, protection of biodiversity, taking into account climate change.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, he praised the role of the Angolan statesman, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, in promoting peace in the region and on the African continent in general.<\/p>\n

Nicaragua’s ambassador, Roberto Morales Fuentes, highlighted that it is his country’s first diplomatic mission in Angola and hopes to share knowledge to strengthen cooperative relations in favor of the respective peoples and countries.<\/p>\n

Oscar Leon Gonzales, a Cuban diplomat since 1996, with experience in international organizations, is for the consolidation of the historic relations of cooperation between the two peoples, forged in struggle and work.<\/p>\n

The Rwandan ambassador, Charles Rudakubana, expressed interest in strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries and for peace in the central African region.<\/p>\n

A letter of credence is a formal note designating a diplomat as ambassador to another sovereign state.<\/p>\n
