Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio, expressed optimism about the influence and impact that Africa can have on global politics, through the promotion of good governance, good neighborliness, in addition to representing the voice and unity for the South Global.<\/b><\/p>\n

The head of Angolan diplomacy spoke on Tuesday, in Apia, capital of Samoa, at the signing of a partnership agreement between the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OEACP) and the European Union (EU), which replaces the Cotonou Agreement.<\/p>\n

According to Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio, signatory of the document on behalf of the Government of Angola, the world is experiencing a multipolar and interconnected moment that is currently witnessing fundamental geopolitical changes and realignments, with implications for all OEACP regions.<\/p>\n

The so-called \u201cSamoa Agreement\u201d was signed by the majority of OEACP and EU member countries and consists of a common base and three regional protocols that meet the specific needs of the African, Caribbean and Pacific regions, to be supported by the Global program Gateway of the European Union.<\/p>\n

The new agreement paves the way for important progress in human development, the fight against climate change, peace, security and good governance over the next 20 years, its validity period.<\/p>\n

The Angolan President, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, assumed the rotating presidency of the OEACP in December 2022 for a three-year term and has worked to build a world of peace and security, defending the environment and promoting economic and social development for all the countries.<\/p>\n

The OEACP brings together 1.5 billion people from three continents and 79 countries, making it a significant force in the concert of nations.<\/p>\n

Due to its scope, the bloc is called to play a fundamental role in building a world of peace and security, defending the environment and promoting the economic and social development of all countries.<\/p>\n

Created by the Georgetown Agreement in 1975, its main objectives are the sustainable development of its Member States and progressive integration into the world economy, which implies giving priority to reducing poverty and establishing a new, fairer and more equitable world order.<\/p>\n
