Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The trial of National Police Deputy Commissioner Paulo Francisco de Jesus, accused of the crime of arms trafficking, initially scheduled for this Wednesday, was postponed until the 20th of this month.<\/b><\/p>\n

The main judge of the case of the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court, in Luanda, Joa\u0303o Fuantoni, informed that the postponement is the result of a request from the defense of co-accused Joaquim Matondo Fernandes, lawyer Osvaldo Ferreira, who attached a document to the file requesting the holding the trial on another date, as his constituent was ill and admitted to a health unit in Luanda.<\/p>\n

The investigation process in question, registered under number 35\/22, in which the Public Prosecutor’s Office is a participant, involves three defendants, namely, Paulo Francisco de Jesus, Joaquim Matondo Fernandes and Tony Jose\u0301, according to the judge in the case.<\/p>\n

Considering the presence of defendant Joaquim Matondo Fernandes to be impracticable, judge Joa\u0303o Fuantoni granted the request, rescheduling the trial for the 20th of this month, at 10 am.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, Jose\u0301 Costa, lawyer for deputy commissioner Paulo Francisco de Jesus, said that his constituent is accused of illegally carrying weapons, but they are for recreational sports, in a total of 10, brought from Namibia to Luanda, where your constituent has a shooting polygon.<\/p>\n
