Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angola’s ambassador to Egypt, Nelson Cosme, highlighted, this Thursday, in the city of Cairo, the bilateral relations and ties of friendship between the two countries and peoples, reinforced in recent years, with the continuation of coordination and consultations on regional political issues of common interest at various levels, from technical, ministerial and presidential.<\/b><\/p>\n

During the ceremony commemorating the 48th anniversary of National Independence, marked last Saturday, the diplomat also highlighted the corporate and business partnerships, which elevate these historical and decades-old relationships of more than half a century to distinction.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a relationship that began in 1965, with the opening, in Cairo, of the first regional representation, within the scope of Egyptian support for Angolan liberation movements against Portuguese colonialism, within a shared vision between President Gamal Abdel Nasser and Angolan leaders \u201d, he stated.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Nelson Cosme pointed out that the shared vision was based on the need for Angola to free itself from the colonial yoke and promote cooperation between African countries, for the emancipation of their people and the development of their respective countries.<\/p>\n

He highlighted the development of these relations over recent years at a political, economic and cultural level, which culminated in the visit of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, to the Republic of Angola, in June this year, and the exchange of high-profile bilateral visits level, including those of the ministers of Foreign Affairs, and Public Works, Housing and Urbanism, last March.<\/p>\n

He welcomed the deep bilateral relations that resulted in the signing of eight Agreements and Memorandums of Understanding, in various professional fields, including the suppression of visas in diplomatic and service passports, which had a greater impact on strengthening bilateral cooperation and implementing the strategic plan national 20-50.<\/p>\n

The field of construction and energy infrastructure was highlighted as a high point of cooperation, as well as the recent entry of Egyptian companies into the Angolan market, which contributed to this extremely important sector increasing the turnover of Egyptian companies in Angola, by 600 million in 2010, to the current 3 billion, with a strong growth trend.<\/p>\n

The commemorative event that brought together politicians, diplomats, businesspeople, and members of Civil Society, among other guests, also included moments for showing videos and photographs about Angola.<\/p>\n

The Republic of Angola celebrated on November 11th, the 48th anniversary of National Independence, proclaimed in 1975 by President Anto\u0301nio Agostinho Neto.<\/p>\n
