Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The adoption of political and economic reforms, the improvement of the business environment to promote investment and tourism, were highlighted, this Thursday, in Cairo, as part of the Executive’s main actions, aimed at addressing the numerous socio-economic challenges that the country faces.<\/b><\/p>\n

At the ceremony celebrating the 48th anniversary of National Independence, marked last Saturday, the Angolan ambassador to Egypt, Nelson Cosme, also referred to the improvement of infrastructure, the fight against corruption and the affirmation of good governance, measures that make Angola an investment destination for many foreign companies and a good tourist and cultural destination.<\/p>\n

Other actions stand out, namely, the deepening of the democratic experience, economic diversification and the continuous training of human capital, industrialization and the attraction of new investments.<\/p>\n

During the event, which brought together politicians, diplomats, businesspeople, and members of civil society, among other guests, ambassador Nelson Cosme informed that Angola has shared its great experience in the field of peace and conflict resolution.<\/p>\n

It is in this context, he said, that the country will host the 3rd meeting of the Luanda Biennial.<\/p>\n

This is the 3rd edition of the Pan-African Forum for the Culture of Peace, under the motto \u201cEducation, Culture and Peace\u201d, an event that will bring together different personalities from around the world.<\/p>\n

On an ongoing basis, he referred to the efforts that have been made to achieve peace and stability in the region of Central and Southern Africa and the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region, in particular in the Central African Republic (CAR), and in the mediation of the conflict, especially between the Democratic Republics of Congo (DRC) and Rwanda.<\/p>\n

In another aspect and within the scope of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), Angola has participated by sending military personnel to combat terrorism in Mozambique, he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, it has promoted the good neighbor policy and respect for the sovereignty of other countries, within the scope of its relations in the Concert of Nations\u201d, highlighted the diplomat, stating that Angola will increase this trend and continue the strategy of expanding relations with other countries and international organizations.<\/p>\n

This strategy, he highlighted, will be developed both bilaterally and multilaterally, in the different forums in which Angola finds itself to share opportunities.<\/p>\n

He stated, on the other hand, that Angola has played a fundamental role in global parliamentary diplomacy and recently hosted the 147th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, a forum for the world’s Parliaments.<\/p>\n

This fact, noted the ambassador, demonstrates the capacity of the African continent to host prestigious international forums, and reflects the will of Angola and the Angolan Parliament, in particular, to defend the values \u200b\u200bof justice, peace and development, as well as the importance that Angola attaches the construction of strong institutions, which emanate from the power of citizens.<\/p>\n

The event also included moments for showing videos and photographs about Angola.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that the Republic of Angola celebrated on November 11th, the 48th anniversary of National Independence, proclaimed in 1975 by President Anto\u0301nio Agostinho Neto.<\/p>\n
