Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The president of the Association of Textile and Clothing Industries of Angola (AITECA), Lui\u0301s Contreiras, defended this Sunday, in Luanda, the union of the sector into associations and cooperatives, to facilitate dialogue with the Executive and guarantee access to lines of financing.<\/b><\/p>\n

The person in charge was speaking on the sidelines of the XI edition of Modangola – promoting the value chain of the clothing and fashion industry in Angola, with the theme \u201cMade In Angola\u201d.<\/p>\n

In his opinion, membership will allow for better knowledge of the sector’s strengths in the country, to the benefit of the economy.<\/p>\n

According to Lui\u0301s Contreiras, the sector has to be solid and organized, aiming for greater contact with the Executive.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Government wants to meet with the sector, so there needs to be a sectoral organization so that we have information, in real time, about the capacity of this sector, the concrete number of jobs it generates, what the constraints and possible solutions are,\u201d he said. .<\/p>\n

He made it known that the association is represented in 14 provinces, with around 500 micro companies, 95 medium-sized companies and a few large ones nationally, generating 27 thousand jobs.<\/p>\n

The general coordinator of the project, Daniel Pires, highlighted the growth of the sector in recent years, adding that there must be more investment to contribute to the growth of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).<\/p>\n

He mentioned that Angola is one of the countries that has the value chain of this sector represented, so there is a need to invest more to take greater advantage of the country’s potential.<\/p>\n

The country has three vertical factories from cotton to fabric, in the provinces of Luanda, Cuanza Norte and Benguela.<\/p>\n

In addition to the forum, the XI edition of Modangola featured a parade, exhibition and awards, with emphasis on the \u201cCareer Award\u201d, awarded to Leonel Pascoal.<\/p>\n

Moda Angola is an initiative of Tussole Business, creator and manager of events, and its main purpose is to contribute to the development and affirmation of an official calendar of annual national fashion events in the country.<\/p>\n
