Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The contradictory instruction in the criminal case that opposes the Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP) to the former Minister of State and Head of the Military House of the President of the Republic, Manuel He\u0301lder Vieira Dias “Kopelipa”, accused of committing six crimes, has begun, this Tuesday, at the Supreme Court, in Luanda.<\/b><\/p>\n

The defendant, also a former director of the National Reconstruction Office (GNR), is accused of the crimes of embezzlement, fraud by fraud, forgery of documents, influence peddling, criminal association and abuse of power, in the case registered under number 004 \/23, in which the Public Ministry is a participant.<\/p>\n

The same case also includes defendants Fernando Gomes dos Santos, accused of the crimes of fraud by defrauding, falsifying documents, influence peddling, criminal association and money laundering, as well as the companies Plasmart Internacional Limited and Utter Right Internacional Limited, accused of fraud. for fraud, falsification of documents, influence peddling and money laundering.<\/p>\n

The adversarial investigation is a phase of the criminal process during which, for the first time, the defendants try to convince the judge that the accusation is unfounded, presenting their arguments and evidence.<\/p>\n

After listening to the defendants and their motivations, the judge will decide whether they will go to trial.<\/p>\n

The contradictory instruction was requested by the defendants.<\/p>\n

The hearing, which takes place behind closed doors, in the judgment room of the Supreme Court, is presided over by judge advisor Nazare\u0301 Pascoal.<\/p>\n
