Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, expressed, this Thursday, dismay at the death of dozens of young Congolese, on Monday night, in Brazzaville, capital of the Republic of Congo.<\/b><\/p>\n

In a message addressed to his Congolese counterpart, Denis Sassou Nguesso, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o expresses solidarity in the face of the tragic incident that killed a significant number of young people in Brazzaville during a recruitment drive for the Congolese army.<\/p>\n

\u201cI share, through Your Excellency, the pain of the families of those who lost their lives, to whom I address, in the name of the Executive and myself, our most heartfelt condolences\u201d, reads the message.<\/p>\n

The tragedy occurred during a stampede at the Stade Michel d’Ornano, in Brazzaville, where recruitment for the Congo Armed Forces was taking place.<\/p>\n

Data from the Congolese authorities show the deaths of around 37 young people.<\/p>\n
