Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The candidates for president of the Angolan Bar Association (OAA), Jose\u0301 Domingos and Sebastia\u0303o Vinte e Cinco, promised, this Saturday, in the city of Huambo, to invest in the continuous training of staff and inclusive leadership.<\/b><\/p>\n

Both presented their candidacies to the electorate of the province of Huambo, with a total of 341 lawyers and 462 interns, as part of the vote hunt, for the 2024\/2026 mandate.<\/p>\n

The two competitors promised, in addition to continuous training and inclusive leadership, to defend the values \u200b\u200bof justice and dignify the professional lawyer, respecting the generational transition to revitalize these principles in defense of citizens with the humanization of the organization’s services.<\/p>\n

The candidate for vice-president of the OAA on list E, Neuza Mela\u0303o Dias, representing the aspiring president, Sebastia\u0303o Vinte e Cinco, pointed out the specialized training of lawyers, as well as technicians from public and private institutions, as one of the main challenges , in addition to institutionalizing scientific days of studies and debates on legal problems relevant to society, the economy and the country’s politics.<\/p>\n

It also defined as a focus the promotion of the implementation of training and internships with Law students from the 3rd year of the degree course, with the assurance of advocacy, as an essential function for the good administration of justice, in a liberal profession regime, including access to financing under different conditions for law firms and associations.<\/p>\n

It is committed to cooperating and promoting inclusive inter-institutional dialogue, between justice operators, to consolidate the primacy of the Constitution and the law in favor of citizens and the administration of justice, as well as with academic institutions that teach courses degree in Law on professional training.<\/p>\n

Sebastia\u0303o Vinte e Cinco promises, if elected, to establish partnerships with similar organizations of the OAA with countries of jurisdiction and international agreements in the field of trade, labor and human rights, particularly SADC, CPLP, the African Union, the Union Europe, China and the United States of America.<\/p>\n

The promotion of an increase in judicial sponsorship indicators throughout the national territory, through the massification of legal assistance and the creation of seed legal assistance centers in Caluquembe, Hui\u0301la province, in addition to the establishment of mechanisms that ensure, preventively, the The rights and prerogatives of lawyers in the exercise of their profession with other institutions, namely PGR, SIC National Police and other operators of the justice system, both public and private, are included, along with social security and the lawyer’s health plan, among the challenges.<\/p>\n

In turn, competitor Jose\u0301 Lui\u0301s Domingos, undertakes to come, in the event of an election, to guarantee the dignity, rights and aspirations of lawyers, the OAA and the strengthening of the rule of law in Angola, as well as increasing funding of OAA’s activities, by multiplying sources of support and revenue.<\/p>\n

The candidate on list C also promises to force the insertion of Angolan lawyers into the most profitable areas in Angola, raising the dignity of lawyers, by strengthening their skills, dignity and trust among citizens.<\/p>\n

It is proposed to implement the rights, guarantees and prerogatives of lawyers, in compliance with the rights and duties established by law, to decentralize and strengthen the powers of the OAA’s provincial councils, for better functioning of the institution and to modernize the OAA’s services, with technological and others, for greater efficiency and reduction of time and costs in operations such as notifications, payment of fees, communications and control of statutory discipline.<\/p>\n

It says it will implement OAA’s good governance practices, through a transparent management model of its human capital and financial and asset resources, including the reform of the internship policy for candidates to practice law, to stimulate, with the necessary support , the realization of their academic and professional potential.<\/p>\n

As a perspective, Jose\u0301 Lui\u0301s Domingos also defined the design of a new headquarters for the Angolan Bar Association, for dignification and better accommodation and expansion of services.<\/p>\n

The OAA was created 27 years ago in the country and the first training elections took place in the Luanda provincial council on November 16, 1996.<\/p>\n
