Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan President, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, will meet, at the White House, in Washington, on the 30th of this month, with his US counterpart, Joe Biden.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to a note from the Angolan Presidency, the visit will take place as part of the celebration of 30 years of diplomatic relations between the two States.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, he adds, the two Heads of State will prioritize bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, climate and energy, and in particular the development of the Lobito Corridor that will connect Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia.<\/p>\n

The White House, which has also confirmed the meeting, says that this meeting will be based on the principles of the US-Africa Leaders Summit, specifically on how the United States and African nations and peoples can continue to work together to face regional and global challenges.<\/p>\n

Angola and USA relations<\/p>\n

Angola and the United States of America established formal diplomatic relations in 1993.<\/p>\n

Angola is the US’s third largest trading partner in Sub-Saharan Africa, mainly due to oil exports. The two countries cooperate in several areas, with emphasis on trade, finance, energy, manufacturing, security, health and justice.<\/p>\n

Trade between Angola and the United States of America reached, until November 2019, around 1.4 billion dollars.<\/p>\n
