Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The governor of the province of Lunda Sul, Daniel Neto, considered this Monday, in Saurimo, that a quick resolution of the issue of public debt owed to local businesspeople, valued at around 16 billion kwanzas, could allow them to contribute much more towards resolving the region’s social and economic problems.<\/b><\/p>\n

Governor Daniel Neto made these statements as part of a meeting that the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, held this afternoon with local officials as part of his two-day visit to the province of Lunda Sul.<\/p>\n

In this meeting with the aim of finding out about the actions carried out and local difficulties, Daniel Neto highlighted that the dynamics imprinted on the work at the provincial level is serious and rigorous, \u201cbut it cannot run any further\u201d because there are difficulties of various types.<\/p>\n

In this context, he made it known that the province’s businesspeople have been contributing and helping a lot, hence the fact that he considers that, once this constraint (local public debt) is overcome, they could give much more to the region.<\/p>\n

He added that these debts, many of which have already been reviewed and certified, are related to a universe of around 200 local businesspeople.<\/p>\n

The President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, has been in the region since Monday morning, having, shortly after his arrival, inaugurated the Luele mining project, considered the largest in the diamond field in the country and the third largest kimberlite in the country. world.<\/p>\n

The Luele mining project is a kimberlite deposit mine, which in the first phase could reach just over one million carats per year and a gross revenue of 60 million USD\/year.<\/p>\n

It is located in an area of \u200b\u200b104 hectares and preliminary data points to the mine having a reserve of 350 million carats and a useful life of 60 years, 600 meters deep.<\/p>\n

The mine began prospecting between 2007\/2008 and expects to employ 1,30 workers in the first phase, out of the 1,500 planned.<\/p>\n

A balance presented by ENDIAMA, in 2021, on the company’s achievements that year, indicates that the mine produced around 1.7 million carats of diamonds, with an average monthly diamond production of 143.7 thousand carats.<\/p>\n
