Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The list D candidate for president of the Angolan Bar Association (OAA), Jose\u0301 Carlos Joa\u0303o Miguel, promised, this Sunday, the creation, if elected, of the lawyers’ academy, to boost the quality of the staff.<\/b><\/p>\n

Jose\u0301 Carlos Joa\u0303o Manuel was speaking at the time of presenting his candidacy to the electorate of the province of Huambo, with a total of 341 lawyers and 462 interns, as part of the vote hunt, for the 2024\/2026 mandate.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the list D candidate said that he will continue with the structuring of a documentation and information center, in addition to the creation of the lawyer’s library, the publication of the OAA bulletin and magazine, as well as the promotion of scientific research in the field of law, through the creation of an annual legal research prize.<\/p>\n

It is also committed to promoting participation in radio and television programs promoting citizens’ rights and, at the same time, ensuring and strengthening the relationships and active participation of the OAA in international organizations of which it is a part or similar.<\/p>\n

These are, according to the aspiring president of the OAA, the SADC LA Bar Association, the Organization of African Jurists and Lawyers, Pan-African Union of Lawyers, International Bar Association (UIA), International Bar Associatin (IBA), Ibero -American Bar Associations (UIBA) and Council of Bar Associations of the European Community (CCBE), including holding seminars and conferences on the importance of the Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa (OHADA).<\/p>\n

He said it was a candidacy made up of lawyers with expertise in several provinces of Angola, with the purpose of giving greater national representation to the management of the OAA, counting, for this purpose, on the necessary and usual participation in the National Council of Presidents of Provincial Councils and Delegates across the country, so that a firm commitment is made to maintain the interventionist order, strong and united as a whole, from Cabinda to Cunene, and from Benguela to Moxico, which constitutes a true innovation.<\/p>\n

Jose\u0301 Carlos Joa\u0303o Manuel said that he intends to make the OAA interventional, strong and united, as it is the guarantee of the defense of the rule of law, the rights, freedoms and guarantees of citizens throughout the national territory, as what is expected is an order capable of make necessary changes and chart new directions and destinations in the face of new social, political and economic challenges in the world and in Angola, in particular.<\/p>\n

Of the five candidates for president of the Angolan Bar Association, the candidates on list C, Jose\u0301 Lui\u0301s Domingos, and on list E, Sebastia\u0303o Vinte e Cinco, have already been to Huambo.<\/p>\n

The OAA was created 27 years ago in the country and the first training elections took place in the Luanda provincial council on November 16, 1996.<\/p>\n
