Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Political Bureau (BP) of the MPLA Central Committee expressed, this Monday, its dismay at the death of nationalist Manuel da Silva Lemos, which occurred on Sunday (26), in Luanda, due to illness, at the age of 91.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to a note, the Political Bureau considers that the death of Manuel da Silva Lemos constitutes the loss of a patriot and selfless politician and, due to misfortune, bows to the memory of the deceased, addressing his family and To the Angolan diplomatic community, our deepest condolences.<\/p>\n

Born in the region of Icolo and Bengo, Manuel da Silva Lemos dedicated himself, in a patriotically immaculate way, to the process of the Armed Struggle for National Liberation, as a member of the MPLA, the party to which he dedicated the best years of his life.<\/p>\n

He also mentions that, as a nationalist, Manuel da Silva Lemos did his best to ensure that Angola achieved National Independence, followed the path of peace and development and, as a sole aim, his compatriots enjoyed better living conditions.<\/p>\n

Recognized for his passion for the culture of the Catete region and the Kimbundu language, he also became known as an excellent lecturer and speaker, having recorded in books many of his ideas on the most diverse subjects, which can serve as a source of knowledge and inspiration for Angolans and beyond.<\/p>\n

Manuel da Silva Lemos’ professional career was marked by his duties as deputy minister of Provincial Coordination, director of Human Resources at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Consul of Angola in the city of Porto, Portuguese Republic.<\/p>\n
