{"id":50607,"date":"2023-11-29T16:09:50","date_gmt":"2023-11-29T16:09:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/?p=50607"},"modified":"2023-11-29T15:02:20","modified_gmt":"2023-11-29T15:02:20","slug":"florbela-araujo-defends-the-integrity-of-the-ombudsman-in-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/florbela-araujo-defends-the-integrity-of-the-ombudsman-in-africa","title":{"rendered":"Florbela Ara\u00fajo defends the integrity of the Ombudsman in Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola. <\/strong><\/span><b>The Ombudsman, Florbela Rocha Arau\u0301jo, defended, on Tuesday, in Kigali, Rwanda, \u201cintegrity, impartiality and dignity\u201d as values \u200b\u200bfor strengthening the Ombudsman institution in Africa.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Florbela Arau\u0301jo, who spoke about &#8220;The dilemmas of ethics in the role of the Ombudsman&#8221; during the 7th General Assembly of the Association of African Ombudsmen and Mediators (AOMA), said it was necessary to become &#8220;aware of our contingency\u201d to deal with dilemmatic situations and carry out work with the full commitment of Africans.<\/p>\n<p>The jurist shared the Angolan experience on the aspects taken into account in cases of dilemmas, having appealed to African ombudsmen for the need to be &#8220;the first to denounce any practice of corruption, nepotism, fraud, easy profit, insubordination, trafficking in influence and other practices incompatible with the ethical and deontological values\u201d of the Ombudsman.<\/p>\n<p>Florbela Arau\u0301jo spoke about the Code of Ethics and Deontology of the Angolan Ombudsman, approved by Order No. 2\/21, of 19 November.
