Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>At least 500 new national professionals were hired at Nova Cimangola, in the last two years (2022 and 2023), bringing the company’s current number of direct workers to 1,170, of which 95% are Angolan, some in decision-making positions.<\/b><\/p>\n

The information is expressed in a note from this operator, released following the Industry Week, an event where the responsible minister, Rui Migue\u0302ns, revealed that in the last four years the sector generated 750 thousand jobs, corresponding to 4.5% of active population of the country.<\/p>\n

According to the statement, Nova Cimangola is the cement company with the most tradition in Angola, having two 100% operational factories, in Cacuaco and Sequele, supported by warehouses and logistics centers distributed from North to South of the country.<\/p>\n

Currently, it produces cement, limestone, fly ash, mortar and clinker, products sold in bulk, in “Big Bag” or in bags.<\/p>\n

It sells the production of both factories in Angola and in foreign markets, namely in countries such as Ghana, Cameroon, Togo, Gabon, Benin, Co\u0302te d’Ivoire and Brazil, contributing to the dynamization of intra-African trade.<\/p>\n

Leading cement company in the national market and largest exporter in the sector, Nova Cimangol is now preparing for the thermal replacement of fuels derived from waste, technological bets likely to make the final price more competitive for consumers and increase the company’s value chain.<\/p>\n

Green Cement in the forge One of its ongoing projects, in which innovation meets the intentions of the Government of Angola, is called LC3 and aims to produce “environmentally friendly cement”, also known as Green Cement, which incorporates a greater quantity of calcined clay.<\/p>\n

This requires lower energy and water consumption, and contributes to the longer conservation of national quarries, the report also states.<\/p>\n

Contributing to the rational management of natural resources and the preservation of the environment is one of the pillars of Nova Cimangola’s actions, which has long contributed to the preservation of biodiversity, and which is committed to controlling the quality of the water it uses in the manufacture of all products.<\/p>\n

It also ensures the environmental education of its workers and the communities in which it operates, as well as waste management, control of resources (water, energy and fuel) and control of gas emission levels into the atmosphere.<\/p>\n
