{"id":50908,"date":"2023-12-03T06:51:56","date_gmt":"2023-12-03T06:51:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/?p=50908"},"modified":"2023-12-03T04:52:28","modified_gmt":"2023-12-03T04:52:28","slug":"oma-encourages-reporting-cases-of-violence-in-communities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/oma-encourages-reporting-cases-of-violence-in-communities","title":{"rendered":"OMA encourages reporting cases of violence in communities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola. <\/strong><\/span><b>The provincial secretary of the Angolan Women&#8217;s Organization (OMA), in Lunda Sul, Maria Mabaia, encouraged, this Friday, women of different religious denominations to develop a culture of reporting cases of domestic violence to the competent authorities, to that their perpetrators be punished.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The person responsible made these considerations at the opening of the Workshop in reference to the 16 days of activism to end violence against women and girls, highlighting that with the complaints it will be possible to contribute to the re-education of people and, consequently, to the reduction of cases.<\/p>\n<p>Maria Mabaia explained that violence against women is more widespread than human rights around the world, for this reason, OMA has carried out awareness-raising activities for this class, essentially activists, friends and sympathizers, as well as partners to awaken and persuade so that there is case reports.<\/p>\n<p>He added that during the 16 days of activism, activities will be carried out to publicize the laws in force in the country, in military units, churches and youth organizations.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that gender violence brings with it many consequences, with emphasis on the after-effects and depression that has victimized many women who suffer violence in the communities.<\/p>\n<p>According to data from the Office of Social Action, Family and Gender Equality, Lunda Sul recorded, from January to the present date, 114 cases of domestic violence, representing an increase of 24 more cases, compared to the same previous period.<\/p>\n<p>Activism against gender violence is an international campaign to combat violence against women and girls, the campaign takes place annually to eliminate violence against women.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\">Angola<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola.
