Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angola has been participating, since this Monday, in the 3rd International Defense Industries Exhibition, which takes place at the Egyptian International Exhibition Center, under the auspices of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.<\/b><\/p>\n

At the opening of the event, which will run until next Thursday, Egypt’s Minister of Defense and Military Production, Mohamed Ahmed Zaki, highlighted the need for each country to reinforce investments in the Armed Forces, equipping them with capabilities to face challenges current.<\/p>\n

In the presence of the Egyptian President, Mohamed Zaki highlighted the updating of the Armed Forces, through the modernization of military means and equipment, as a starting point for the creation of strong and capable armies to face any eventuality.<\/p>\n

The minister also highlighted the need for cooperation and exchange of knowledge between the different Armed Forces, an opportunity that this event can provide, during four days of exhibitions to be interspersed with lectures and conferences, in different panels, in addition to the signing of agreements to bring the national defense industries of participating countries closer to Egypt.<\/p>\n

The Angolan delegation to the event, led by the Secretary of State for Military Industry of the Ministry of National Defense, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Nation, Afonso Carlos Neto, includes Brigadiers Jose\u0301 Catumbela and Lourenc\u0327o Bundi, as well as Colonel Jose\u0301 Pedro Mugimbo, Attache\u0301 of Defense of Angola in Egypt.<\/p>\n

The members of the delegation will take advantage of the opportunity to internationalize the experience of the country’s defense sector, since the founding of the first regular forces, the extinct FAPLA, in August 1974, whose socio-historical dimension, including the reorganization combat capacity, is recognized to the present day, particularly in Africa.<\/p>\n

As part of the event, which brings together 22 countries from Africa and the rest of the world, including Germany, France, USA, Brazil, Italy, South Korea, Romania, China, Turkey and Egypt, the Angolan delegation visited, this Monday, the pavilions of these last three countries that showcase their defense industry potential, covering the areas of communication and mobility, textiles, aeronautics, naval and technology, among others.<\/p>\n

The Angolan delegation’s agenda for the event includes meetings with official, governmental and business entities from different countries.<\/p>\n
