Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio, has been in Beijing, capital of the People’s Republic of China, since Tuesday, for a 72-hour visit, with a view to strengthening and deepening bilateral cooperation.<\/b><\/p>\n

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that during his stay in Beijing, the head of Angolan diplomacy will have a meeting with his Chinese counterpart, as well as visits to commercial, technological and cultural enterprises in the Asian giant.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival at Beijing International Airport, minister Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio was received by Wu Peng, director for Africa at the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and by the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Angola to China, Joa\u0303o Salvador dos Santos Neto.<\/p>\n

Ambassadors Miguel Dialamicua, director for Asia at MIREX, and Carlos Sardinha Dias, director of International Cooperation, are part of the working delegation.<\/p>\n

Relations between Angola and the People’s Republic of China are considered strategic, whose roots are based on the annals of the history of struggle characterized by similarities that both peoples and countries carried out for their liberation.<\/p>\n

The current state of bilateral cooperation between the two countries is considered privileged, with a tendency to increase to an excellent level. Political-diplomatic relations between the two countries reached a landmark in 1983, when the Chinese Government recognized the Republic of Angola.<\/p>\n

March 1, 1983 became a historic date in bilateral cooperation, as talks took place that culminated in the signing of a Verbal Process between delegations from both countries, which gave rise to several legal instruments, aimed at expanding cooperation in the areas Economic, Commercial and Social.<\/p>\n
