Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angola and the European Union discussed, on Thursday, in Luanda, the points contained in the draft joint statement to be submitted at the VI Ministerial Meeting of the Joint Path, scheduled for the 10th of this month.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to a note, the discussion was held during the VI Joint Technical Meeting on the Angola-European Union Joint Path, a political agreement that aims to promote a dialogue on public policies in areas of common interest, guided by the principles of democracy, rule of law, human rights and good governance, equity, ownership and joint responsibility.<\/p>\n

The central purpose of the ministerial meeting is to explore cooperation and partnership relations between Angola and the European Union, outlining priority areas for higher-level political dialogue in the near future.<\/p>\n

The technical meeting was chaired by the Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Angolan Communities, Domingos Custo\u0301dio Vieira Lopes, and ambassador Rita Laranjinha, director general for Africa, European External Action Service. Participating in the meeting were Ivan dos Santos, Secretary of State for Economy, Rosa\u0301rio Bento Dias, ambassador of the European Union in Angola, Maria Cuandina de Carvalho, director for Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ma\u0301rio Constantino, and ambassador of Angola to the Kingdom of Belgium.<\/p>\n

In addition to the representatives of the European Union delegation in Angola, members from various ministerial departments were present, including sectors such as Environment, Finance, Economy and Planning, Justice and Human Rights, Industry and Commerce, National Defense, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Country, as well as such as INAPEM.<\/p>\n

Established on July 23, 2012, the Angola-European Union Joint Path political agreement marked the beginning of a new stage in bilaterally strategic relations between the two partners. This agreement reinforces the exchange of political dialogue in areas of mutual interest.<\/p>\n

In this context, Angola and the European Union reaffirm their joint commitment to sustainable progress and development, aiming for a promising future for both parties.<\/p>\n
