Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angolan Jemima Paulo finished in second place, with seven points, in the African Junior Chess Championship for both sexes, which took place in Mauritania.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Ditrov School athlete beat her compatriot Rebeldia Anto\u0301nio in the final, who came in seventh place, with 4.5 points.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, FIDE Master Luzia Pires, another Angolan representative in this competition that ended on Monday, defeated the Mauritian player, Andrin Chethanah.<\/p>\n

In women’s competition, the event was won by Algerian Chahrazed Djeroud, with eight points.<\/p>\n

In the men’s sector, FIDE Master Domingos Ju\u0301nior (Angola) was in sixth place with five points. He drew in the final round with Algerian Hallal Tarik.<\/p>\n

In this category, the competition was won by Algerian Wafa Hamed, with 8.5.<\/p>\n

The championship saw the participation of 11 athletes (female) and 17 male athletes, in the competition held in the Swiss system over nine rounds.<\/p>\n
